NFL goes Pink

nfl_breast_cancer1_mI am a college football girl. The NFL holds little interest to me unless it’s Super Bowl Season and there are good commercials to watch. So I missed it this week when the players began wearing pink in an effort to raise awareness for breast cancer.

Ford told me about the pink laces, shoes and wrist bands he had seen the players wearing and I just had to look it up.

The campaign, “A Crucial Catch”, consists of the NFL players and coaches wearing pink game day apparel.

These items, along with many others, are being auctioned off to the public with proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society.

I think it is a great example of using public relations and media coverage to raise awareness about a truly critical cause.
